Induction hardening is a form of heat treatment that selectively hardens a metal part or component

Metcor's commercial and aerospace certified induction hardening equipment with frequencies from 3 to 10 kHz is capable of doing shaft hardening to a depth of 0.150" for shafts up to 12" in diameter and 42" in length.

Metcor also specializes in gear hardening for parts up to 10 feet in diameter weighing up to 5000lbs, with equipment to handle large gear teeth individually.

Controls include PLC controlled part movement and state of the art micro-processor controlled induction generators and scanners.
